I may have bought many keyboards and I’m on medication for mania. I fought with her today because she continually brought up the scammer who scammed 2500 dollars out of my bank account when I was manic, and she says “you should have sobered up and saved up money when you were scammed, then you are using all money you collected towards paying off what you spent when you were scammed.” I had to return the package today because she was yelling at me too much. I don’t know what to do with her. I just wish March would come sooner so that I can get the ■■■■ out of here and live independently by myself at the university as a researcher. I don’t buy a lot, and I only make a purchase like twice per month. I don’t understand why my mom is acting this way.

I’m sorry your mother is acting this way. With our kids, we just requested they set aside a certain amount of their money and could do what they wanted with the rest as long as the purchases were appropriate (no drugs, for example). I don’t understand the desire to control, especially at your age. I’m happy you got the research assistantship. You’re right- not too much longer now. Hang in there!!!

I’m definitely not on drugs. lol So I know that I’m making sensible purchases. My mom and I reconciled earlier today, so all is good. Sometimes family members fight and that’s ok.
