My husband is still really sick

We don’t know what he has. He tested negative for covid. But he’s been sick for 11 days to where it’s hard for him to get out of bed. In the first 7 days, he lost 23 pounds. His fever is finally gone but he’s too exhausted to do anything. This sucks and I’m worried about him

Is there anyway you can get medical advice to put your mind at rest? Over the phone / whatever.

I’ve gotten sick from a lot of things over the years. Food poisoning, strep throat, pneumonia that left scars on my lungs. All of the above were pretty bad but I lived.

Just keep an eye on him and if he gets worse go to the hospital.

My husband is refusing to do an appointment because he says no one can help him. He says he just has to ride it out

I’m not the type to run to the doctor either but the above ailments I listed had me begging for a doctor. Strep throat will not go away without an antibiotic. I had blood clots in my throat and couldn’t eat or talk. Pneumonia had me coughing so bad it left scars on my lungs. I had to sleep sitting up. Food poisoning was diarrhea and puking at the same time with a severe fever.

When I had strep throat it made me so weak I couldn’t walk. It took me about 7 days or so to get better. He may have strep. I don’t remember taking anything for it. Just resting. Riding it out. But that’s a long time ago in the stupidity of my youth. Tell him to get his a** to a doctor.

last march I had a fever and was sick for 3 weeks it was influenza.
maybe he has influenza which is also very hard on the body.
hope he gets better soon

It’s not strep because he doesn’t have a sore throat. We plan to ride it out for now. I just wish I knew what I could do for him

I don’t want to frighten you but sometimes Covid tests come out negative falsely.
I would have him retested.

We’ve thought that it might be a false negative @Wave . So we’re quarantined.

It’s good news that his fever broke.
See how things go in the next 4 days or so.
If he doesn’t improve after that or gets worse I would have him go see a doctor.
