My GP is she for real?

Am I missing something here I had systolic blood pressure of 139 today at gp n I said I can hear my blood pulsating whooshing through my vessels in my head and she said this blood pressure is fine. Really??
Plus history of stroke on both sides of family and I’m obese

I’m not saying I think I’ll die of stroke tomorrow necessarily but 139 is high no?

She I’d gonna investigate the noise. Blood tests for anemia because sometimes if iron is low there’s less blood cells so blood is pumped harder or something like this… Still I wonder why do I hear it only from one ear… I’ll as k next time

OK here it doesn’t sound so bad. Still high though she should not say its fine.
The source I read said stage 1 hypertension
I hate szc

I think if I could excercise properly I would not have this problem. My eating would be sorted too then.

Normal is around 120/80 so 139 is not too bad. Maybe she is right, maybe there is nothing to worry about?

It’s so disturbing hearing my blood rushing around through my veins it’s as if they are being squeeze through narrowed spaces maybe… This has to be investigated…

Do you mean cholesterol? I used to have hallucinations related to hearing my pulse at night. It sounds healthy enough though.

It is in sync with my pulse by my neck that’s the thing. So it’s real. I’m sorry you had that that must have been disturbing right. Idk maybe it’s not everyone that finds such a thing disturbing

Usually they don’t diagnose you with high blood pressure until you have 3 consecutive “high” blood pressure readings. I have high blood pressure and a 139 top number is pretty good for me. But it’s a good idea to keep your eye on it just in case the Dr misses it.

I do want to say that anxiety definitely raises my blood pressure, so I know it’s hard, but try not to get too anxious about it or you’ll only raise it even more. Before I was diagnosed with high blood pressure there were times during anxiety attacks that my blood pressure top number would go into the 190’s just due to the anxiety. I had to take a benzo to keep it under control.

I bought my own blood pressure monitor to keep an eye on my blood pressure because with the medicine sometimes I get too low and need the Dr to make adjustments and I just feel better knowing where I’m at. You might want to look into getting one. They are only around $50 bucks. That’s not too bad for some peace of mind.

I’m with leaf. Just a monitor. My bp is sometimes way too low and sometimes high depending on how I’m feeling. I monitor it whenever I’m not feeling well.

This is the one I have.

That was the case when I was in the emergency dept being assessed because of chest pains. The readings were much higher than normal. It of course didn’t help I kept looking at the blood pressure monitor.

I went for a routine follow up the next day and it was 115/75. I mentioned the higher readings the day before. The doctor said i was because I was anxious. I hadn’t registered that I was. Pulse rate had been fast too. At the follow up it was down to 80.

I sometimes have blood pressure as high as 140. My dr doesn’t feel I need blood pressure meds yet because I often have good blood pressure readings.

I have high blood pressure.
My normal number is usually around 140.
My gp doesn’t say much about it.
He doesn’t intervene.

I take 2 different meds for it.
