Just got a call from my doctors nurse and my A1C was 6.3. That’s .6 down from my last reading of 6.9. Yay!
Congratulations on your progress!
Congratulations @Bowens!
My A1C number is 6.3 also but it went up from last years number of 5.7.
But I’m still pretty pleased with the results, I thought it would be much worse.
6.3 is in pre diabetes range, I’ll take it!
Congratulations. Mine went up from 5.9 to 6.1. Still, my PCP was happy with it.
What is an a1c number?
Good job, @Bowens!!
IDK what my A1c is, right now. I got my blood drawn, a couple of months ago, for A1c… and my A1c was 4.6! Clearly not my actual A1c, cause that’s way too low and doesn’t match my blood sugar average on my continuous glucose monitor.
They did another test and it was the same, 4.6! Something is wrong with my red blood cells, which is screwing up the test result.
My A1c is probably around 6, going off of my CGM blood sugar readings.
It’s short for HbA1c. Here’s the Google result:
A hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) test measures the amount of blood sugar (glucose) attached to hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the part of your red blood cells that carries oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body.
It’s basically a score of your average blood sugar over the last 3 months.
It’s your average blood sugar reading over a 3 month period.
Cheers dude, that’s a good drop!
What are you doing differently to lower it?
5.2 for myself, mothers (type-1) was 7 last time.
I like to have mine run due to the Zyprexa, and family history.
My last A1C was 5.0. Yay for me!
Not a whole lot. I lost weight and I don’t drink sugary drinks.
Congrats @SkinnyMe !
That’s plenty hard enough, good job, you’ve added time to your life.
You’re cheating death by years. Not good to have raspberry jelly for blood.
Great job. Before I lost weight, I had diabetes. But now my A1C is 5.0
Nice @LilyoftheValley !

Thanks @Bowens 15
What does it mean by A1C. Thanks
Like Headspark said, it’s your average blood sugar over a 3 month period.
I am taking insulin for diabetics.
