I’ll be 53 next week, but I and my mother went to a Vietnamese restaurant today. They had also sushi and other Asian food. It was a good experience. I just can not imagine that I shall be 53.

I was at the Thrift Shop, so it goes like this…
Young Clerk: “Discount sir?”
Me: “Sure! I’d love a discount!”
Young Clerk: “65 and Older?”
Me: “DAAAAaaaaaAAaaa!!!”
(I’m only 54 years old. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.)

I think sometimes it’s hard to tell when you’re a young person. I remember asking people when I was a teenager working at a coffee shop and people in their 50s (probably) would come undone. It was always lighthearted though. I remember thinking, well you all look pretty old to me! Plus I didn’t want people missing out on that discount.
The jokes on me though as I‘ve gotten older too and now understand the sensitivity.
