Relatively speaking. I mean compared to the average American. I don’t fancy a lot of stuff. I fancy needed items. I fancy clean lines basically, I mean for the most part. My living room is going to have a chair, which I picked out because of it’s size, it’s wide enough I can sit with my legs tucked under. It’s reviews for comfort, it had five stars and it’s weight limit of 500 pounds leaving me to believe it was built well. It’s dark gray to hide dirt and match anything and I think it’s ok looking. It was a little under $400.
My couch that I’m pretty sure I’m going to get is about $250 only and it’s actually a futon. It’s faux leather and will hold up well to sticky little grandbaby fingers with a quick wipe down. It will be nice to have an extra bed to accommodate the grandbabies for sleepovers in the future or other out of town guests. I love the look and the simple lines and the white goes with my color scheme of turquoise and gray.
I have some pillows picked out to add a little warmth
Then I’m going to have a small tv stand. I don’t like large furniture. I like to be able to move it myself for cleaning and rearranging. Usually I’m a fan of lighter wood but this time around I wanted
to be different and did the whole apartment in espresso.
My coffee table is simple, utilitarian.
Then in the entryway for safety in the winter I added a rug. I loved the mixture of colors and the design and I thought it would hide stains well. It matches a smaller rug I have at the back door.
Also in the entryway, to hold my purse as I come and go and my keys, cell phone and what not I decided I needed another little table. This one had a certain charm and the price was right.
The dining room is small and is attached to the from room. That’s why I opted for such a small eating arrangement. To be honest 90% I eat in my chair or at the couch. It’s only if I have something messy that I sit at the table. I mostly got the table for the grandbabies to eat at when they got old enough. But I think it’s adorable and it goes with all the other wood.
Then I have some artwork I’ve been carrying around with me for a while. I bought frames online and prints on allposters.com and made my own art. In the entryway there’s a column that begs to be decorated with these prints.
Well that’s about it for the living room and dining room and entryway. Pretty simple. I think it’s going to turn out really nice.
