My American friends - how many types of snickers do you folks have?

We only have the original. But I have been told you guys have more. This intrigues me

I reckon a dark chocolate snickers would be good.

I’ve only had the occasional one.

We have a few types, some that just come and go. I’m having a hard time thinking of them, not really a candy person, though I do love Heath bars. There was a peanut butter Snickers, a fudge Snickers …

Excellent question sir. I, too, am intrigued.

Also, what do you Americans recommend as a first American chocolate to try?

There’s a Snickers Almond. It’s pretty good.

Want to be impressed? Check out all the Japanese varieties of Kit Kat.

I thought there was only one

Is there a dark one? That would taste strange to me since I’ve only tasted the one flavor all these years.

I’ve never seen any snickers other than a regular snickers

I think Hershey’s is the best American chocolate.

American friends … we’re eating at Denny’s the first night we’re in America. Do they serve french toast for dinner? Also, what else do you recommend from the menu?

I don’t know how many different snickers candy bars there are. I don’t keep up with that stuff.
They also have a snickers ice cream bar.

I recommend a restaurant other than Dennys, lol.

I guess it’s not that bad. It’s just where you go when it’s late and you’re f*ed.

They do serve breakfast at all hours.

Do you mind if I ask where in the USA you live? We’re visiting LA Portland, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.

I live in SoCal. There are some amazing restaurants in those cities. I’ve had good luck with Yelp when traveling outside my usual stomping grounds.

Americans … what would you order for a deli restaurant? Do you tip at a deli?

I’m partial to corned beef, french dip, and avocado BLTs.

If you order at a counter there will usually be a tip jar. If you are being served at a sitdown restaurant the tip should usually be 15-20% but for counter service less. 10% ish or maybe a buck per sandwich unless they do something special for you.

Fast food restaurants like McDonald’s, no tip is expected, but coffee houses like Starbucks generally do expect tips. You’ll know though, because there will be a jar.

Thanks for the tips (pun) I’m petrified of doing the wrong thing with tipping. It’s not customary in Australia.
