I definitely found the baby and toddler years the hardest. I like the teenage years the best.
I used to use the old Peace Corps slogan to describe motherhood: “It’s the toughest job you’ll ever love.”
After having my son with my abusive first husband, with all the extra concerns and difficulties, let alone the standard ones, I knew I’d never have another child.
