When I was about 11, I overheard her tell a friend she was afraid I’d never grow up. It affected me very badly. I beat myself trying to develop.
My mother too used to tell me that instead of growing, I was going back…

Maybe she was anxious to see you grow up and become a beautiful lady? depends on how she said it?
Actually I think she wanted to keep me to take care of her and my father, instead of growing up and leaving home.
