Mood / Schizophrenia

My Pdoc told me that my psychotic symptoms are relied to my mood.
She wanted to tell me that when I have a low mood, I also have delusions and so on.

So do you think I can firstly treat my mood symptoms and after that have a drop in Risperidone ?

Psychotic symptoms are related in part to how stressed you are. As you get more stressed your positive symptoms increase. I have been able to get by with fewer symptoms and lower doses of medications by working to feel and be more positive.

Thanks. It’s true that I feel much better when I’m not stressed or when I have few torments.
In the past, I had big psychotic events caused by death of loved ones for example or other significant episodes.
I just wonder if I can hope by having a good mood to have less delusions or anxieties related to schizophrenia.

I think this is true. When I’m more stressed and thus lower mood, there’s more likelihood that my thoughts start to become weird and that my brain is more wired.

Are u still in psychotherapy?

Yes I’m still in therapy, but I will look for a psychologist who would be more responsive.

5 am… Time to go to bed.

See you later !

There is such a thing called depression with psychotic features and bipolar with psychotic features maybe that’s what the doctor meant idk but yeah low mood can cause psychosis to worsen I do know that
