hey,
Pretty covers the stuff that is in Surviving Schizophrenia. Always different for most folks but men more difficult repsonse, women much better. Old news this but it’s important to acknoweldge such things!
Longer symptoms…worse diagnosis. It’s not rocket science but it is indicitive of problems in male psychotic illness’
It’s a hard graft lads…!
Rogueone.
Throughout history men have always been used as the expendable ones… women and children first they say… the world is always more forgiving and expects less from them.
As a man… even at that a 6 foot white male… the expectations placed upon me are ever-receding and unmatchable… I can not do as much good as could do or have done at all times… why? Because the others aren’t as capable… and it’s not fair for me to sit comfortably while the others are struggling even though I’m easily outpacing them… the brass lays in and make me struggle just as much as the rest…
Will it pay off? Will all this time that I’ve invested into my head and my sense of drive ever begin to pay off… do I really have to figure out how to be my own boss before I’m allowed to just relax?
Basically it’s the only answer I can see… where authorities settle on just seeing the others trying… they expect perfection from me instead.
It seems vengeful on their part… to treat me unfairly… and because of that nature of things… I will stand by my statements above… more of a polemic move than one I really care to argue about.
Why the hell should I have to be a perfect worker… why can’t I just find a job that I can do through and through and be left alone to handle it?
I hoping my wishes are fulfilled when I return to seeking out appropriate labor for me and my condition.
I met a woman with schizophrenia once who got the disease in her teens, and was even a teen mother but managed to get an advanced college degree, have a normal career, and had a family as well. I couldn’t help but think WTF but it didn’t mean she was not struggling. She was largely dependent on her husband’s insurance to get her meds, and struggled greatly to obtain them when he was unemployed, talked daily about trying to quit her meds due to the weight gain but took them again because she couldn’t otherwise sleep, and I believe eventually got diabetes. A lot of men on a street corner or living at home will be ignored by women while a man will pick up a woman in terrible shape. It’s part of how the World goes and the physical characteristics of women;s anatomies give them an advantage with the illness as well. But it doesn’t mean they have an easy time with the illness.
hey,
There’s always someone worse than you! I’ve learned that over the years and women suffer just as much as men!
I’m just saying…the post is self fullfilling! It is just the way it’s been reported and that isn’t anything new…so is that news?
I’ve met plenty of women who’ve it way worse than me but this aint no contest!
