Medication wearing off?

I havent been doing very well the last few weeks and now Im hearing voices, what’s happening, are my meds wearing off?

In 1989 I relapsed after being on the same medication for 5 years. I’m not saying you’re relapsing, I’m just trying to show how fickle meds can be. I know that some people can be on a certain medication for a length of time and they could be doing fine and then their medication can just stop working. I don’t know how common that is but there’s a chance that that is happening to you. I obviously don’t know if that is happening to you but it’s a possibility. And even on medication, symptoms can get worse. I would advise to tell your doctor and he may raise your dosage if he thinks that will help.

It might be that you are getting stressed about some situation in your life and the stress is making your symptoms flare up. And your doctor may want to put you on a different med altogether. I’ve been taking my same medication since 2005 and I had not been hospitalized since 1990 and I had a little relapse about a month and a half ago and I had to be hospitalized for two days. My reason for relapsing is because I had several stressers happening in my life at once and I was just overwhelmed. I was taking my meds like I always do but my mom died, I lost my housing and a few other things were going wrong and I just couldn’t handle it. If I were you I would discuss this with your doctor.

I was doing alright on lithium and risperidone alone. Until insomnia came from somewhere. I think it was stress so they gave me Klonopin and that killed my insomnia. But I still have the anxiety. So certain things in your life can disrupt your current meds and you may be forced to take additional ones to get by
