Hey everyone. So my new med asenapine (Saphris) is much better than my old meds.
BUT
since I started taking it, overtime, I am having increasing pain and stiffness in my joints. I can barely bend my knees, I can’t hardly make a fist, my hips are stiff and sore, even my joints in my feet feel stiff and painful! I’m wondering if this is just a coincidence and it’s just arthritis or if this is a med side effect. I really can’t tell.
Ok. I think I need to convince them to let me have an early appointment. Bummer is with this med I’m getting out of the house and doing things and I don’t want to lose that ability
Im in a similar situation with my meds too. You never know, they could have something you can add which prevents the rigidity. But best to ask them if it is caused by the ap
Yeah. First I’m going to ask my primary dr if she thinks it’s arthritis. If not, I need to see my pdoc. The stiffness and pain are getting bad enough that it’s hard to do anything, let alone exercise. Not good.
FYI, I get this with the saphris. I take hydroxyzine simultaneously and it helps. I also have psoriatic arthritis so sometimes it’s hard to differentiate symptoms.
Ok. I have my annual physical today and am telling my primary dr my symptoms to see what she says. I also scheduled an appointment with my pdoc for Thursday. Hopefully this gets straightened out and I get relief. @anon55031185@anon54334749
