How to create meaning
How to create purpose/meaning ? I think you can google it. I haven’t so far.
Easy for him to answer
If you want meaning there are up to 20 million different combinations of jobs and hobbies
I’ve heard before that trying to search for meaning can sometimes make you feel worse. Personally, I just try to enjoy things.
Honestly, its all a philosophical thing anyway.
For example, if kids are what you try to find meaning in, the pessimistic/nihilistic/negative person could say that your kids will die in 80 years anyway so what does it matter in the grand scheme of things?
Or the optimistic/more positive person could find real meaning in just being in nature and breathing in the air.
I guess my point is that this is all in your head to a large degree. If you look to find no meaning, you wont find it. You need to be open to finding meaning in things for it to be there.
If you go out thinking life is meaningless you can downgrade and make ANYTHING seem that way.
Is that your problem, the others got it easy ?
I have job and something to do
Eat, drink, and be merry.
Then you have some meaning in your life
If it’s not working out make some changes
Only you can do that

If you’re afraid of death, then you already have meaning, i think. The next step is to figure out what it is that gives your life meaning. Then you can better paint yourself a picture of how you want your life to look like. After that figure out which habits you need to get there and then you’re on your way.
Find your intrigue and follow it.
So, I am in an intensive therapy program. The ultimate question for the program is what makes my life worth living? My answer is having close relationship relationships with friends and family, having things I enjoy doing in life, and enough money to get by.
Each week I create goals that will help me work towards that . Then I track whether or not I complete my goals at least however many times a week I want to try to do them. If I don’t do them, I do what’s called a missing links chain analysis to determine what all got in the way of me doing it so I can problem solve how to make sure it happens the next week.
Cool I wish I had therapy but therapy is very expensive
Yes it is expensive @Frenzy . Luckily, due to my income and multiple disabilities and illnesses, I qualify for help through a grant. I pay nothing for therapy. Many CCBHC community mental health offices offer grants towards very ill people with low income in the US.
I get individual and group therapy weekly, and 24/7 phone access to coaching (for 1 year), plus I have a psychiatrist and a case manager. Also, if I want, I can join art therapy, ptsd support group, a walking group, a women’s group, and get career help with resumes and practicing for interviews. There are a few other groups as well that don’t apply to me
I love that @2Waynez !
That’s the spirit!
What i do is find something that is super interesting to me. Wether a religion, philosophy, ideology etc, and make myself obsessed with it. Foster that fascination. Get into it like someone would get into the lore of thier favorite book or video game world. Embody it.
To be honest though i think i do this because of sza or adhd or depression haha. Lots of people seem to get on fine without having a hyperfixation like that. But i feel i need it. Otherwise nihilism comes knocking on my door. And past addictions and bad habits rear thier head once again.
