When I was an early teenager I read the Shannara books of Terry Brooks. I remember enjoying them.

D@D novels are easy to read. The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and later Brandon Sanderson is awesome but takes dedication.

Have you read the Harry Potter series? :monkey::monkey::monkey:

I started reading The Wheel of Time - by Robert Jordan, more than two years ago, I am in book seven. As said before it takes a lot of dedication.

Awesome! I’ve always wanted to read a fantasy book too.

I’ve read that anything by JR Tolkien is a good place to start.

I would suggest The Lies of Locke Lamora.

Tolkien. It’s the start of heroic fantasy and so good. The Hobbit is a kids book. Easy read and good starting place. The Lord of The Rings is the classic in fantasy. Great work and has a lot of backstory which gives it an air of depth. It’s quality. Not really modern and it’s a boys playground but still a good starting spot.

There may be depth in your question, regarding sz and fantasy. Am I being much to serious about this post? When sz is at its worst I get lost in fantasy. So for us I wonder if reading fantasy is such a good idea.

nobody reads alice in WOnderland

I listened to the Dune audiobooks.
Spoiler sort of
I always thought Mentats were cool for having believable supernatural powers.

Mentats were likely very intelligent even before they used spice.

They are so smart that if you feed them the appropriate and correct info they can predict the future with near %100 accuracy.

This is a big thing in Dune because so many things on the desert world are very un-predictable.
