Man I think my meds are crapping out on me

Increasingly over the last month I feel nothing after my meds. Might as well have been a sugar pill.

It is especially noticeable today. 150 minutes after my meds and I am all anxious and suspicious.

I have kinda been dreading this day. I have read accounts here of other folks whose meds crapped out on them.

I have a pdoc appointment next month. Pretty sure I can hang on till then. At least I hope I can.

Anyway thanks for reading

No idea if your meds are crapping out, but as far as “feeling something” after meds, I dont either. I can’t tell if I miss a dose or anything. Must be certain meds that offer a “feeling” , because when I hear people talk about this, it’s foreign to me.

Good luck @Jimbob . Dont despair. If they are crapping out, hopefully you can increase dose or switch meds.

Grounding exercises like walking bear feet and visualizations help me with anxiety.

Thanks for your kind message @Bowens. I in fact experience the opposite of you where upon I find it hard to imagine not feeling effects from meds.

Funny how two experiences can be so different

Will try those. Thanks @TheFountainPen

May I ask you some suggestions for things to visualise?

I visualize roots coming from the bottom of my spine and feet and going into the ground.

Breathing and holding for a couple of seconds and then exhaling slowly might help as well.

You also have 5-4-3-2-1 awareness. If you are interested you can Google that.

There are plenty of things besides benzos that can help with anxiety.

Oh I already do the breathing exercises. But your visualisation sounds like a great grounding technique. Will try it

After clozapine I feel lightheaded. Like I got nothing in my head, no thoughts no nothing. But just gets me tired and sleepy. I am slower than before. I remember how I was and see the difference, otherwise I would not know.

My meds are literally killing me :frowning:

Pretty sure meds have crapped out. Desperate for something to help

gosh i wish i didnt feel “something” after taking mine. had an issue last night and today.

Is it just seroquel that you’re talking about? Would swapping the xr version for immediate release version help I wonder.

That’s the problem. I don’t know which med is crapping out.

I take seroquel, pregabalin and procyclidine twice a day, all three pills together. So really I have no idea which is crapping out

Your suggestion is a sound one though so thanks for your input

Is 2023. I have a good grasp on reality but I have a strong, persistent sense that something has changed for the worse

Jim bob last week I was asked from my treatment team to step down to 800 mgs qutiapine. At first I feelt fine but then I had two unpleasent days were I didn’t sleep for over 40 hours strait each day so now I’m back to 900 mgs.
But I’m going for a raise in Seroquel to 1000 mgs in the hope of falling asleep before 30 hours awakeness.
Sorry to say but to me when we talk about.seroquel I consider seroquel below 700 mgs as baby doses.
And I Still consider my injection of 500 mgs Clopixol every 3 week as the cornerstone of my treatment.

i dont feel anything after taking my meds either. like it used to hit me like a tank taking night meds but its not so bad now as the med still works for my symptoms just less side effects as my body has gotten used to it

I had some mini breakdowns recently which i haven’t really had in years. Luckily when I woke up the next day I felt fine. If it gets worse maybe call your doctor. In the past on meth my meds quit working and I went into a prolonged drug induced schizophrenic psychosis. I knew right away that they quit working. I just said that cause you were wondering if someone could tell when their meds conked out.

I hope they can schedule you sooner. 5 weeks is a long time to wait when you’re not feeling well.
