I just ran into my nephew-in-law (is that even a real thing?), and he is big on eye contact. I put my hands in my pockets and looked at the floor after engaging in eye contact which seemed to last forever. I was very uncomfortable. Why is this? I know that a lot of szers hate eye contact. What’s the reason?
There is so much going on with people’s faces that I get lost in watching every little movement and tune out the conversation. It seems with most that it’s their face telling the truth while their voice is saying other things, so I just follow body language instead.

Before i wasnt able to make eye contact, now i have no problem, if i dont want to make eye contact the only reason would me is my sleepy looking eyes caused by my medication.
The selution to be able to make eye contact was my defecency in my neurotransmitters.
You should look into neurotransmitter testing. You can PM me and i will give you a good lab website were you can be tested and use their own supplements to balance any neurotransmitter that you have deficensy.
I think @shutterbug is right that for us the difficulty is processing two different streams of information, the visual and audio. I’m so bad at it that I get lost trying to follow television or movie conversations. There’s how they look, what they say, how they said it, what they were thinking as an actor, what their character was supposed to be feeling and thinking, what the director must have told them, why the camera angles were chosen, and then usually bad music in the background to integrate.
I think I’ll go along with calling mine an “integration disorder.”
Eye contact in an uncomfortable environment is a trigger for a panic attack.
They can see all my many feelings I keep hidden, even from myself.
don’t fear eye contact, embrace it. no one is going to go off on you so you have nothing to fear. I love looking in people’s eyes.
The only people I didnt like looking in the eyes in the beginning were the psychiatrists. Some people are just too friendly, and when your feeling like ■■■■, you rather look away.
I’ve never had a problem with eye contact. I’ve never heard of people that have sz having a problem with it.
i do the same…though i am getting better.
take care from the sane
