Major Pyschotic Episode

I’m going through a terrible time, the voices are super loud and constant throughout the day. I’m seeing this girl who is following me around, but nobody else can see her. It’s getting to the point now where I can’t go out in public without feeling overwhelmed and I just want to sit in my room and zone out. Sorry, I needed to vent.

please seek help from a psychiatrist if you don’t have one? You sound like you need to be on meds, are you on meds?

Im on 150mg of Wellburtrin and 5mg of Abilify. I just started seeing a psychiatrist a couple of weeks ago, hopefully she’ll give me something stronger next week.

I think the Wellbutrin is probably making you worse… I’m not a doctor but Wellbutrin increased hallucinations in me. Abilify stopped them. If you were on a higher dose of abilify you could take Wellbutrin, but anti depressants especially those in the class of Wellbutrin can cause psychosis if you’re not stabled out on an antipsychotic

I will bring that up with my doctor. Thanks

Abilify can backfire.

It’s unique in the way it works and also a bit…how do I put it…fishy.

I know a guy with schizophrenia who was on abilify and some horrible crap happened and he had to switch meds.

I’ve heard of stories about it backfiring as well.

Maybe call your psychiatrist and tell them that the medicine isn’t working.

I understand that you are new to this. Didn’t you say that you were sixteen? That’s early for schizophrenia and not a good time to have it, as if there is a good time to have a psychotic break.

Be assertive and call the psychiatrist. You need to be assertive about being schizophrenic in the context of mental health workers. It’s the most serious condition in mental health. Demand to be taken seriously.

She said she doesn’t want to diagnose me right now. It’s very frustrating.

Don’t diss abilify :frowning:

Wellbutrin was the worst drug I’ve ever taken. Abilify the best. Only trial and error can say what’s affecting op negatively

I will experiment around and see what works best for my sz

A good psychiatrist doesn’t care about diagnosis more than symptoms. They should be treating symptoms, period.

Call and tell your psychiatrist that you are having hallucinations. You have to fight a little bit, you have to speak for yourself and demand help.

You don’t deserve to just suffer when someone is paid to alleviate your suffering. Really you don’t deserve to suffer at all, period.

I was chosen to suffer because of schizophrenia, but I agree that she should be treating my symptoms properly and not just treating it as depression.

You weren’t chosen by anyone or anything to have schizophrenia. Trust me on that. It’s a developmental disorder much like autism.

Do you think people are chosen to be autistic?

Probably not. I sort of hope you don’t.

Well the same goes for schizophrenia.

Yes, you addressed that your doctor isn’t treating your symptoms. You need to get some courage up to demand that he/she does treat your hallucinations.

It’s easier than you think. Just call and if the receptionist asks for a message, say you need to have your medication altered because you are hallucinating. The doc should get back to you and if they don’t, call again.

Thinking that schizophrenia is a “chosen one” thing is sad but pretty common. Please do not be sad and pretty common.

I dont think its that bad

In the long run, SZ is providing some sort of data to God. Are you an atheist? Would explain everything, especially that SZ is not part of a grander cause to end conscious struggles. Everyone is contributing, SZ’ers contribute more, to the final outcome.

Don’t harp on beliefs. The purpose of belief is to strengthen & inspire, not to belittle. SZ is ■■■■■■■ stupid, enough said, let’s try to develop positive belief systems to keep us deeper theists going, yeah?

Did you quit Abilify and also how old are you? You seem very intellectual and your choice in music is bazaar to me, In a good way.

Yes, I quit Abilify. Still detoxing & recovering from it, though. I’m 27.

You seem like a good fellow. Hope things get better for you.
