Mac Windows - Withdrawal of support

You’ve got to be kidding?

I paid for Mac Office in 2019 and now they’re basically forcing me to update it to either 2021 version or pay for a subscription for 365.

What a joke!

Granted it took me this long to bother about the alert, but still.

This does not warrant a subscription.

You get good value from a lot of subscriptions, but subscribing to MS Office is utterly pointless as lets be honest, the core functionality of these programs has changed very little for two decades.

Now yea you can use our product but we’re not going to support it unless you re-buy basically the same things with a handful of new features

If you buy a perpetual license like you did, you get updates for a few years and that’s it.

If you always want the latest version/update you have to subscribe to office 365.

That’s the way it’s been for years now.

I have office (not 365) for windows that I bought 8 years ago.

Yes, unfortunately it is a joke. Reminds me of the MS office apps like word or excel. They make a new version of it, but basically it’s exactly the same product, that they had minimal cost making. In fact they only make it so that you have to buy a new license.

I’m also convinced that the updates they have on windows OS is mostly to make the computer run slower with time so that you have to buy a new computer where microsoft get their commision with a pre installed version of windows. If they only sticked to security updates the computer wouldn’t keel over.
