how do you make your mac n cheese? Mine is weird. Want new ideas.
I’m bad at making mac and cheese.
I tried this and it’s really good.
I just use Kraft Dinner, boil 10 min then add cheese
Some years ago you could buy a box of mac n cheese for 33 cents that had a packet of powdered cheese that had forty grams of protein in it. The macaroni was high quality too. I used to eat a whole box by myself. These days they’re charging 75 cents for a much more inferior product. I has way less cheese, and sub standard macaroni. The major brands, like Kraft, cost over a dollar. The best place to get mac n cheese these days is at the Dollar Tree. They sell a big box of mac n cheese with high quality macaroni and a big packet of cheese for a dollar. If you get this kind of mac n cheese don’t put in salt when you boil the macaroni, because there is already a lot of salt in the cheese, and if you put salt in with the macaroni it is way too salty to eat.
Sometimes I cook up the kind of mac and cheese that @Mountainman posted. Then I drain a can of tuna and add that in with the noodles and cheese.
It actually taste really good!
Mine always ends up mushy.
like Kraft mac n chees3
you might be cooking the macaroni too long.
That’s what my brother has said. By the time it gets soft the water is almost dissolved. Do I add more water and turn it down?
My secret to cooking noodles is to boil them for 10 minutes and they are still al dente. I don’t like them over cooked. But you can’t go wrong with Kraft or Velveta. Just follow the directions on the box
I like to add steamed broccoli into my Kraft, so I can pretend it’s a nutritious meal.
bring your water to a boil…have enough water in it that it covers well the macaroni…usually I cook my macaroni for 10 minutes…but near the time the macaroni is cooked I pull out a noodle and taste it to see how soft it is.
I took some ideas from your recipe and my son was so delighted by the new recipe that he had seconds. Thanks @anon57786250 I really appreciate it.
I make boxed Mac and cheese but add extra cheese and bacon bits to it since I usually don’t want to take the time to make bacon and chop it up myself
I use the generic version of this.
I used one pound of spaghetti, boiled for 10 minutes. Then I stirred in 2 cups of shredded mild cheddar cheese, 12 ounces of sour cream and a can of evaporated milk. Mixed well and poured into a large casserole dish. I topped it with more cheddar cheese and baked it for 20 minutes. Both my son and husband went back for seconds so I guess it was good.
I make it like the box says. But, instead of butter or margarine, I use Hellman’s mayonnaise. With just a hint of Red Devil hot sauce. Yummy!!!
i boil the water add elbow macaroni or shells, apply lid, turn off heat let set 15 minutes, drain pour into glass baking dish add cheese ends, variety. shake up milk and flour add, stir, bake 350 for about 40 minutes. serve with chilled stewed tomatoes. and a salad.
