We had our annual Christmas luncheon today. Aside from feeling awkward and nervous it went pretty well. An executive from my company came and handed out the employee of the year award and the rest of us got sweatshirts, a $25 gift card and medallions. We even had to stand up in front of everybody and collect our gifts and some woman took pictures of us. I just hung around the biker ex-con because he’s a little older than me and I figured (right) that he was kind of feeling lost and awkward and so we talked between ourselves. Most people were in a good mood though I could tell that several of them weren’t comfortable either. It only lasted 1 /1/2 hours and we got free pizza. I survived it!

I’m not part of the branch in town, but they invited me into their Xmas brunch anyhow. I do help them out when their commercial team is in a pinch. I didn’t go because I’m still pretty sick with whatever my covid morphed into. I no longer test positive for the rona, but I’m still sick as a dog. I figured it was best not to go in and transmit whatever it is that I’m carrying.
A bit disappointed because it is occasionally nice to see people at work.
