I found a new band, Hawkwind, a space rock band from early seventies music. fits right in with my prog rock view of music. love it…

Yeah great band. When I was collecting vinyl I had a goal of collecting every hawkwind album. It was easier said than done because they had that many compliation records it was nuts. Lemmy Killmeister was a member and wrote Motorhead whilst in the band. Got kicked out and went on to form Motorhead so it was the breeding ground of British hard rock. The sci fi author Michael Moorecock wrote some lyrics for Hawkwind too if I remember rightly.

wow didn’t know that…!! love Motorhead and Lemmy. “ace of spades” is the only song I know of by Motorhead though…a member of Hawkwind just died and Rolling Stone magazine posted about Hawkwind is how I found them…so good.

I’m discovering the music the Beatles and the rolling stones grew up on. I thought I was out of music. I guess that’s an impossible thing.

Yes, you definitely need to explore Motorhead. I don’t like Hawkwind as much, but I do in small doses. My husband is a huge Lemmy fan so both Motorhead and Hawkwind are in heavy rotation.
