Lost my red Soviet flag 35 years ago

I studied in one university in Finland and I had visited Moscow, the USSR in March 1987. I got my Soviet flag there. When I returned to my room in one border city of Finland I placed my red Soviet flag on one wall of my room. And then May Day came and students had their parties as we had also. I was served some alcohol drinks, but I was not used to drinking any alcohol and I passed out. When I woke up next morning my Soviet flag was gone. People who partied with me had taken it and later they said they’ll return it. They told that they had it in some parade. This happened on April 30th, 1987. But now exactly 35 years has passed and the Soviet flag has not been returned. Maybe this was just the prediction of the future how the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, over 30 years ago.

See mjseu, I think you know that life has somehow improved there since the last 35 years, whatever it is called now, in most of the areas. Maybe just not in every area right now, in the past 35 years.

There are now many independent countries. Would just be interesting to know what happened to my Soviet flag. I have flags of many nations where I have visited.

Give us a chance right?

I think you would understand this dark joke, oh what if Texas was a country at some point?

California could be a country. When I lived in my auto in America I drove from Miami to LA a couple of times. Once there was a checkpoint in the border of California and the officer wanted to know if I had some ‘mints’. I answered no. I did not have any mint candies

You can buy a replacement on eBay.

I bought one in my little town years ago. Would just be interesting to know what my student friends did with the flag I got in 1987.

This flag disappearance was just one example. Before starting my studies I visited Crete in Aug 1986 and I brought some drinks with me and I kept these in my room. One night when I was out somewhere these drinks were gone. They had had the drinks and promised to replace them, but never did. Maybe they enjoyed those drinks. I had funny student friends. Crete and Agios Nicolaides is a very nice place.

I thin it was. Wasn’t it?

How are you doing Russia, Mexico? Is it all still about the gold rush?

I would begin to doubt they intend to return it around this point.
Maybe I’m just cynical.

They are not going to return it. I think it was just a funny joke. I bought a replacement several years ago. My hobby was to collect different flags of different nations where I have visited. I have also Russia’s flag but I have not visited Russia yet, I only visited the Soviet Union in the 1980s. I may visit Russia in the future. I would have liked to have Russia’s double-headed eagle flag, but only the government of Russia uses it and so they are not selling those in my little town.
