Lithium+Abilify?

Abilify improved my negative symptoms but it caused me multiple addictions. Lithium is used to stop addictions and stop compulsive/impulsive behavior. I wonder what if I take them together, will I still have addiction issues?

Lithium is illegal as a supplement here in Canada but I will ask my psychiatrist about it. Its legal in the US.

“Lithium for schizophrenia: supporting evidence from a 12-year, nationwide health insurance database and from Akt1-deficient mouse and cellular models”

I hate that the only med that worked for my negatives had unbearable side effects, I couldn’t overcome its addictions, its like taking cocaine and psychologically try stopping the high feeling, its just impossible.

Lithium is a toxic drug especially at higher doses.
It’s hard on your kidneys and thyroid among other things.

I was on lithium for years and it messed up my thyroid (hypothyroidism)

It also made me retain water in my legs especially.

Did it cause mental or cognitive issues?

I was thinking about a low dose like 100mg.
What dose were you on?

I was on 1200mg and yes it caused cognitive issues like impaired memory.

Ok thanks, I will stop thinking about lithium then.
There is no way out of negative symptoms without having worse symptoms.

If you are still interested then I would discuss it with your doctor.
Don’t take my word for it.
