Let´s talk (again) about Papa John´s 😡

Well, the first pizza I tried was the bull´s eye bbq carnivore. It was pretty good, I instantly became a fan.

But then I ordered two other pizzas: 1. blue cheese and pulled beef and 2. Special John´s pizza.
Both awful.

I still haven´t made my mind yet, so I ordered a simple pepperoni double cheese pizza…
Maybe I liked the first one because it doesn´t have tomato sauce but bbq instead? IDK

What is your opinion on the best and worst Papa John´s pizzas, especially those ordering them in Europe?

I hate papa johns last time i ordered it taste like crap and was outrageously expensive

Weird… the opinion of the majority of people here was that it´s the best pizza chain restaurant.

The little breaded chicken pieces are ok, the garlic sauce is superb and the pizzas… well I told my experience in the OP.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I feel like you once mentioned you live in Europe…?

If so, then you most likely have better, higher quality options than an American chain such as Papa John’s.

I will say that American food places taste much better internationally than they do in the States— plus they have more interesting and unique options as well.

Papa John’s I think had its heyday way back in the day. If that’s your only option for pizza/food, then I get it. They do have some decent items available, and it’s super casual so you’re in and out.

But yea, at the risk of sounding like a snob, and as both an American as well as someone who likes their food, if you have the means and other choices available, I would advise a “skip.”

Plus the “Papa” himself is an enormous douche, according to multiple sources.

True! Back to normal Italian pizza. (Allthough the pepperoni double cheese wasn´t that bad after all, it´s like a Domino´s.

The thing is that, beeing true that I like italian pizza the most, sometimes (or for some periods) I crave for the american style pizza.

I had Papa Johns once in some random town in Maine on the way back from a burn. Don’t remember it was just pizza back then.

All ordered pizza is mediocre at best if you’re getting it from a major chain. I like artisan pizza from a traditional wood-fired oven when I can get it:

Honestly, sometimes for me, a medium thin crust supreme from Domino’s just hits the spot!

But yea, I will also add that not all American-style pizzas are created equal— and there’s actually different variations depending on what part of the country you’re in.

Mom and pop shops and local restaurants defos have tastier pizza than most chains, plus you can support small businesses as well if that’s something you’re interested in.

Well, in Europe there are a lot of small pizza places, and they are widely available, but I don´t like their pizzas at all (and I really love their kebabs). You gotta choose between middle eastern pizza, real italian pizza and food chains. I believe there is not much else to choose from.

Yea, I suppose because you live there, the food choices seem pretty limited after a while.

But from my perspective, you’re like, blessed to have authentic Italian pizza and kebabs and Middle Eastern food at the ready.

If I had kebab places near me, that’d probs be the only thing I’d ever eat to be honest .

I mean, look at this thing:

Or fries with mayo and malt vinegar:

…I’m also very hungry because it’s actually lunchtime where I live, so plz don’t mind me .

TBH I think that way when I crave for kebabs, but it´s one and done for some weeks for me. They become too much pretty soon.

BTW the pizzas in Kebab places are pretty bad

I refuse to acknowledge that as pizza. I love a lot of middle eastern food, but that’s a hard pass for me.

OH GOD YES.

That’s like ordering ginger beef at an Italian restaurant.
