Leaving soon to visit my daughter in the hospital

She’s in the psych ward. They think her depression, anxiety, and PTSD got out of control and led to a nervous breakdown. I’m driving a long way to visit her. I might have to drive there again tomorrow morning because she thinks she might be discharged then. We’ll see.

I’m so glad she’s finally receiving treatment. Her dad is religious and believes all this is spiritual, and doesn’t believe in mental health treatment. Maybe now he’ll see she needs the help.

She hasn’t worked, gone to school, or had friends since 2019. It’s been so hard to watch her go through. I’m really hopeful she gets all the help she needs and starts a new life. She’s a really sweet, kind hearted, thoughtful person and she deserves it.

Thanks everyone. She’s doing ok. I’m bummed because she’s not planning on doing partial patient where you go 9-5 Monday through Friday for intensive therapy. She’s just planning on doing outpatient therapy once per week for an hour. I truly believe she needs more than that. She’s still having flashbacks and major anxiety attacks. The good news is that she’s no longer feeling suicidal

That’s what I was taught. I was very religious. It stopped me from getting help sooner when I was hearing voices.

Funny thing is on an antipsychotic I’m not very religious.

My symptoms got worse in 2020 and I was told to get help. I’m glad I did now.

Me too @HollyHobbie . religion can be both helpful and harmful.

Same here. Very religious family, very conservative. I didn’t seek help when I had issues after having my daughter. I heard demonic chanting. I think I had puerperal psychosis (PPD) or something along those lines. No clue really, because I never got help.

That sounds so awful @Happy_H

It turned out alright. My hubby has always made it easy to tell him stuff, so when I got married, life improved exponentially. When my sza symptoms really started showing up, he was there for me, and I got help.

Please don’t forget to update us on your daughter. It’s so scary when our kids, whether grown or not, have problems like this.
