So I find myself saying “The Herd” a lot. To me it means all the people that fall and fight for the social norms and are stereo typed by what they see on TV and Social Media.
People that cause a famous person wears a shirt or dress they all have to run out and get one, because commercials say its good for you they have to buy it or they take out ad’s saying sin foods are bad for us so they need to be taxed and they say yes, we deserve this tax cause I eat to many chips.
Maybe I am wrong? or should I give up and join the herd???
I don’t know…I get that sentiment. It became less important to me to be contrarian just for the sake of being so. I might make different choices, but I tend to think live and let live now… I am happier than before. It relates to that being yourself thread.
Me too. I used to be an activist for all kinds of causes. I got so tired of that specific herd, though. Always so angry with everything. Then I went to the no-herd herd. But it’s a herd too. Now I’m on the recovery from sz herd, seems appropriate
Though I have never been an activist of any sorts, in different areas of life it was true of me that I disliked things just because it was a norm - if I am being honest. Of course, one can always find reasons when required, such that a half-decent argument that doesn’t go back to being different for the sake of it can be made. But those weren’t things that motivated me. I am nowadays a bit embarressed by this attitude of mine back then. But I can still use the excuse of immaturity to get away with my past.
Wait I disagree…sheep are owned by the snakes…slowly sapping the herd of everything…the wolves are those of us who don’t play well with herds rules and leaders…I have a pack…my family and close friends…a herd to me suffers together in silence…a pack fights together for what’s right…ditch the herd and start a pack…
