It was in August 1989 when I went to America, 30 years ago and then eventually stayed there nearly 13 years. Watched the fall of the Berlin wall on TV in Michigan. Things just happened, I went to study in Michigan and then moved to Atlanta, eventually got married and then went through a divorce after which I lived in my auto over two years and then moved to Europe. Things just happened. I suppose that when I was young and eager to see the world, I went just with the flow and did not experience the crazy decade of the former USSR, the world changed and now I am here where I have been for 17 years. Things just happened.

One can never know what happens in the world. In 1999, 20 years ago, who could have guessed that the same people who came to the power in Russia in 1999 would still be there after these 20 years. In 1999 the economy of Russia was on its bottom and then years passed and their economy improved annually. The world changed.
