I just don’t think living under those conditions is more humane.
My lifes very solitary already because of sz, i think i could survive solitary confinement.
You have little freedoms that a person in a prison cannot have.
There’s a guy named Steven Jay Russell, the movie I love you Phillip Morris was based on his life. Well, he was a serial prison escapee. I think he got locked up and escaped 4 times before they finally sentenced him to life in solitary confinement. He was originally charged with insurance fraud or some kind of financial crime, something he would have gotten a relatively short sentence for. He’s been locked up for over 22 years now in solitary.

That is just plain cruel. He’d probably freak out if he were free again.

Apparently he got approved for parole earlier this year.

Agreed. Solitary confinement is maddening. Death is just a quick way out. Some people deserve to actually suffer for their crimes. Solitary confinement is a good consequence for heinous crime.
