It is the Fathers' Day tomorrow, any plans

Typically I ride my bicycle to see my father at the elderly care facility, but now my bike is broken and I can not go. So no plans really.

In the US, Father’s Day is in June or July or so.

So we live in different worlds, LOL

Fathers Day comes after Mothers Day.

I never thought about it being on different days in different countries. Kind of cool…

Father’s Day was back in June here in Canada. My kid (then twelve years old) made me French toast and sausages. My poor wife was rather ill at the time and unable to go shopping for a present for me. Told me to buy what I wanted, which turned out to be a piece of kit for my podcasting suite:

The big holiday coming up here is Remembrance Day this coming Tuesday, Nov 11th. My kid is singing in a school choir and already performed at a couple of senior citizens’ residences and the school function this past Friday. She will be performing one last time at the town ceremony held at the Royal Canadian Legion Tuesday morning. Hoping to video that.

Currently snowing here. Am going to have one more cuppa then I will see to clearing sidewalks. Will take about an hour as we’ve got elderly homeowners on either side who aren’t able to keep up their own walks now. The one to the east has a corner lot and a LARGE stretch to clear. Will take a while, but heaven knows I could use some exercise.

That’s my exciting morning. Hope you enjoy Father’s Day and manage to get your bike repaired soon.

I’m in the states… yeah, our fathers day has long passed… but I could totally get together with him and spend some time and let him know I appreciate him.

Telling your Dad… “Thanks for keeping me alive and not giving up on me”…

Could definitely be more then once a year…

My father passed away last year, I miss him.

Coincides with US Veterans day 11/11 which can sometimes be the 2nd Sunday of Nov…interesting…

Maybe light a candle for him @Csummers. Tends to help with grief on anniversaries or special occasions like Christmas, Fathers day etc. I hope you can come to peace with it soon.

Thank you @Dreamscape,I will light a candle for him,and set out a dill pickle (he loved those things). I’m okay with him not being here, because he is finally free. I would never have wished him to prolong his suffering, but I find I do miss him very much.

Don’t actually know who my father is/was. My mom was a hippy in the truest sense of the word. Also could be called the town bicycle – lots of people took her for a ride. Which is neither here nor there. I’m here, now, and pretty much okay with who I am. Just hope my daughter doesn’t take after her grandmother from my side. Not a good way to live your life, I think.

Just from what you have shared about your girl… she’s a very smart kid with a lot of talent and creative outlet… she gets to spend quality time with you while shooting bows and it seems you and your wife support her interest.

That sort of thing builds a lot of inner confidence. With that inner confidence… I have a feeling she will not be taking after any one… but being her own person. She sounds like a very amazing young woman in the making.
