Sorry if this is little religious, but this is just a part of my life. Russia’s high courts outlawed Jehovah’s Witnesses and prohibited the distribution of their materials. It is now as it was during the Soviet Union, my grandmother was a pioneer in JW and I know many JWs. I may not then go to Russia after all. The times are changing.

World is changing. It is scary. Xenophobia takes over the world. It was not so long ago Hitler killed so many innocent people. The world has not yet healed the wounds.

I do not go to Russia, I might even smuggle the JW English bible that I got in my little town to some Russian in Saint Petersburg who would like to study English by reading this Bible, I might be sent to Siberia for 10 years as they did during the Soviet time.
Sad in this day and age the world is not evolving into something better.
The struggle people in other parts of world have to endure should have us all looking in the mirrors to be happy for what we do have.

I have an interesting story as always, back in 2002 we, I and my father, had some troubles and I filled out the form on the JW site requesting them to visit us, they were in New York and we were in easterm Finland. It took a few months but then two persons arrived, one older and one younger, they came and visited us which was nice. For many years I talked with this older JW man and the younger man was married and moved to Australia. Today this older man is dead already. Those were interesting times.

I’m not religious myself, but I find it silly to outlaw a religion or belief system. But this is Russia.
this term ‘käpälämäki’ in an old Finnish term, it means to run away, so now JWs are running away from Russia, maybe they can come here, we have a good JW community here. So when I wrote ‘Jehovan todistajat lähtivät käpälämäkeen Venäjällä’ means ‘JWs started running away in Russia’. Some people have commented that I use these old terms.
I hope I can pray for them. This is religious persecution.
They lose appeal.
Recently I got one book from our local JWs, it was about all world religions, not just JW materials, it is quite good, showing in the map where different religions of the world are and explaining in detail what these religions are. It is good.

Where I come from, nobody likes JW. They go door to door trying to convert people and such. It is not banned. Unfortunately the Jewish community though is non-existent but there is still JW and even some new ‘strange’ religions of energy and healing etc
