It changes over time but I would have to say right now that the best part of my job is that the week goes really fast and every day at work goes by fast

And now that I think of it, the hours are great too. I might like something else about my job better in the future but now I just love the fact that while I’m at work, the day goes by so fast.

It wasn’t always like this; I’ve been there 7 years and I used to be a clock watcher. I used to be checking my watch every ten or fifteen or twenty minutes, counting down the time until quitting time and the time just dragged by so slowly. But now I don’t have to be there until 10:00 am and the two hours until lunch go by quickly every day. Lunch is from 12:00 pm until 12:30 pm. Then I work just an hour and a half and it’s break time already. The longest part of the day is the last two hours, but once an hour goes by, the rest of the time is bearable.

And going to work after the weekend is not something I look forward too. But once I’m there on Mondays and get that out of the way I don’t have to be back until Wednesday. And then I have Thursday off and it’s Friday already! And Fridays are good at any job.

See I have Tuesdays and Thursdays and the whole weekend off so I never have to work two days in a row! No matter how bad my day goes I always have the next day off to rest and recover.

What changed for you? I hate clock watching too, but I’ve always experienced it in the jobs I’ve worked. I’ve never been at a proper desk job that utilized my college education. I mostly worked entry level jobs that paid about the same amount as my disability pays now. I like to think if I found something I liked doing, I wouldn’t watch the clock so carefully. Being unemployed is wearing away my sanity.

I would love to work at a job with benefits that made the end of the day and the weekends feel special again.

What helps now is that I get to work alone. I rarely worked alongside any of my co-workers anyways but now that the office workers are all working at home I can daydream or try to solve problems while I work, with plenty of space and peace and quiet.
And I only work six hours a day.

Oh I love having my headspace to myself when I work. Some of my best work was when I didn’t have supervisors or customers breathing down my neck. I probably should have gone into the I.T. field like my little brother.
