Good listening skills is important for a doctor to have, especially a psychiatrist.
My psychiatrist is a pretty good listener, she makes important decisions based on this.

My pdoc is a pretty good listener.
Sometimes I feel like he doesn’t take my concerns as seriously as I do,
But he hears me out.
I’m happy with him.
I like my pdoc very much. He listens and is always very kind. Plus we always discuss hockey lol.
My pdr apt lasts 5 min max, I don’t waste his time bcz really only meds help not talking which is a waste of time. Science is medicine not talking.
I hate when I wait bcz a patient is talking about his personal life to the pdr. Keep this to your friends or make friends to talk to them.
I kind of agree with @Aziz . My appointments are about 5-10 minutes. No talking just the usual questions.
Yeah my appointments are about 5 to 10 minutes long also.
My pdoc is basically all business.
My appointments are as needed, 10 to 15 minutes. My pdoc hears me out, then tells me what he thinks. Until Covid19, I would see a therapist once a week for a half hour. Now with Covid19 she calls me on the phone. She listens pretty well.
My pdoc appointments last 30 min. I see her every 3 to 4 weeks. She takes her time.
Of course. He is a good listener and very comprehensive.
5 min. with my pdoc. When I was in psychology it went on for 45 minutes. A lot of money wasted.

Yea psychologists only suck money without treating mental illness, only money and time waste. I avoided them all and happy now, no more 250$ wasted every couple of weeks. I would have never healed without my psychiatrist and meds.
Yeah it’s a known fact that medications are more effective than talk therapy.
But therapy can be a good add on treatment.
Its not for everybody, I feel uncomfortable talking with a psychologist, I am more comfortable with my psychiatrist. I don’t benefit from talk therapy and have no patience.
Mine last the full 30 mins slot since I brought a relative with me, and wrote down some questions before the meeting.
Those appointments are precious - here they are any way.
You really need to do something to change this if you can, as I have found it leads to better treatment.
Mine used to be 5-10 mins too
My appointments are so short because of insurance purposes.
Sorry to hear that.
Mental health provision globally is a bit hit or miss in different areas.
My appointments are about 5-10 minutes. He asks questions and I answer. He reviews my therapist files before I go in.
I think meds are much more improtant, they’re the basis. You need to improve to a certain degree with meds before benefiting from talk therapy.
I am not able to reach that point
