I have Ultimate and I hardly play anything these days.
Getting BO6 on it in October though.
Only if you’re using the system for multiplayer. You don’t need it if all you play is single player.
I pay for Game Pass on xbox and do my online stuff there, my PS5 does not have PS+.
I reckon it would be worth it to get xbox game pass ultimate instead. Pretty cool selection of games. And you can stream play them instead of installing a lot of them. Or you can cast your game pass games to a phone screen and connect your controller to your phone and play remotely far away from home. Like a different town even. Or whatever screen you want really.

You really gotta be the right person to enjoy Ultimate. I have it, and have had it for years. Funny thing is I never actually use it to play the Game Pass games. You see other than a few special games (Bethesda games, Gears of War, Halo Titles, Fable, first party stuff) most of the games on Game Pass will leave eventually, forcing you to pay for them if you want to continue playing. This is so annoying I don’t even bother playing them to start with. I sometimes use the Game Pass as a demo service but I usually buy the game outright if I like it so I can own it. Game Pass does discount it by 10-20% though which is nice.
What game pass ultimate does do, is it lets me try out some day 1 games to see if they suck or not, and whether they are worth buying or not. I’ve dodged some bullets thanks to the service.
I just want the multiplayer. Which kind do you suggest? (Sorry I’m clueless about this stuff. Haven’t played a video game in nearly ten years)
I want XBox because of Halo Infinite lol Did you enjoy it if you’ve played it? I’m seeing mixed reviews

Definitely just get core, if you want to play multiplayer but don’t want access to the big always changing library.
I played Halo Infinite as my main online game for 2 years. They never put forge in or any good maps until after I left, but the game itself was super fun. I haven’t played the campaign but the multiplayer is really really good, it just had sparse updates back then, but eventually got everything they promised.

How good are the games you get with game pass?

The games with game pass are good sometimes and not so great other times. It really varies. One year we had Subnautica and Lost Dark both on there, that was good, right now my favorite one is Valheim. It’s like minecraft mixed with dark souls.
I’m not sure infinite multiplayer would function if you weren’t subscribed to a form of game pass. It doesn’t require purchase but I think it requires game pass to play online. Only the 1 player campaign requires like a 70 dollar purchase.
I have the Xbox game pass and Ubisoft game pass. Between the two I play a lot.
What XBox Series X games do you consider best and why?

Oh! I really used to like Skyrim and Fallout 4. I must have put a thousand hours into each. The only reason I don’t play them anymore is I’ve played them to death. I think they are the two of the best games and I believe they are on Game Pass. Fallout 4’s DLC might not be on game pass, but most of Skyrim’s is.
Marvel Rivals is super amazing and free to play but isn’t launching until December. I got a key for the beta last month from a Twitch drop and it was ridiculous fun. It’s like Overwatch but with Marvel superheroes. I got a 20 kill streak without dying as Hulk one match.
If you can avoid the temptation to buy extras Fortnite and Warzone can be fun. I don’t really play them though.
It really depends on the genre you want. Xbox has games of all genres and its only weakness is maybe japanese style RPGs, and it even has a few of those. Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 are fantastic jRPG and I think they are both on Gamepass right now.
TL:DR If I had to say which ones were hands down the best right now though, I’d say Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3 for single player, Street Fighter 6 and Halo Infinite and Marvel Rivals (not out yet) for multiplayer.
Elden Ring is really hard but really fun, and Baldur’s Gate 3 has an incredible story and is great if you love Dungeons and Dragons but don’t have a group of friends to play with.

it was worth it to me when i played online but now i let it expire as i have a desktop pc and a handheld pc. and barely play online games. i like owning games so the included gamepass games dont interest me too much as out of 100s of games i end up completing like one game within multiple months while juggling several others. since theyve made it so free games dont require core to play online is also part of why i let mine expire as with so many free multiplayer options and no longer being attached to a single paid multiplayer game (cod) it is fine
