Some posters sometimes forget that they are just patients and they give advices but not always good. Wish we had real doctors here for some advices… I won’t mention them though…
Yes it is! Thanks guys for the overwhelming replies lol
We try to remove any posts from people giving direct medical advice, but it’s a very slight distinction between people sharing what worked for them and people telling others what to do.
You only gave us five minutes!!!
Okay but i saw many “advices” wrong of course. Today also.
Then you should do what your name says and flag those for us to see.
There is a difference between saying, “Geodon and Latuda are known to be weight-neutral. Ask your doctor about it,” and saying, “You should take an extra pill every other day to help manage your symptoms.”
You gave me a good idea. I will pm you mods. Thanks
Use the PM we already have going.
I won’t make a drama from this. I go now into dream world
because it’s midnight here
I think its not bad.
When i gowas to. My doc i play aa doc. I think my doc is professional but i think if you have sz or mental illness you are aware and you can help. I think if you dont have sz you can also help but that help.is different. From the doc i mean.
while the advice might not always be great, at least it comes from actual experience and understanding.
I have a bad tendency to play doctor and have since I was literally a child. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is referring to me
If I ever suggest anything that is flat out wrong PLEASE correct me, I love learning new things and would hate to give someone false info. I promise I will not get offended at all. I always try to only give information I either learned in school, from doctors/therapists I’ve seen or from actual research papers/books. I try to be clear if something was based on my experience vs something I was formally taught as well.
I’m trying to remedy this by becoming an actual doctor lol. Or nurse practitioner rather. I already have a degree in neuroscience and psychology, now I’m going through nursing school…sloooowly workin my way up there…but I imagine I’ll still be on here when I’m done.
I’ve been roasted by loved ones for it before though so I am really sorry if it was me who’s been messing up.
A lot of “advice” is just common sense or common knowledge that maybe isn’t obvious to the person who is asking for help at the time. I won’t deny there’s mistakes.
But it is not common here to see someone posting, “Oh, ------- gave me bad advice.” And I can’t think of an incident off the top of my head where anyone says they were hurt badly by following advice here.
But I agree with @Ninjastar. If you see some bad advice, then flag it and bring it to the attention of a moderator.
