Is it unreasonable to request a low dose benzo?

I’ve been on benzodiazepines before, sometimes low dose, and sometimes high. I’ve abused them before at the height of my mental illness. I’m on Celexa for anxiety, but it’s not doing the trick. I have no plans to abuse anything. I’m just desperate for relief.

What do you think? I’ve been very honest about my past problems to my doctor.

I have the same question. I think benzos would bring me great relief. I have no history of addiction and I’ve been prescribed them before with no problems-- but I had to stop seeing that prescribing doctor. Good luck to you.

I finally got off of Benzos after taking them for two decades!
Not planning to take them again, even as a PRN.
In general relying on all kinds of Benzodiazepines is a bad idea.
The potential for tolerance and addiction is too great.

I wouldn’t be on “all kinds”. Ideally, one, at a low dose.

Yeah talk it over with your doctor.
I’m sorry I was really talking about myself.
Taking a Benzo as a PRN under the supervision of your doctor sounds doable.
Good luck @catchme
