Is it possible to achieve and maintain a healthy weight on zyprexa?

recently switched to geodon for my 2nd med but thinking about going back to zyprexa. Don’t feel bad right now, just felt better on zyprexa. dunno, guess i just liked the effects more. plan on changing my eating habits. so?

If you are really strict and do not cheat. Like never!
And you exercise, then you maybe will be ok on zyprexa.
I am on latuda it is better than geodon and the weight gain is not ass bad as zyprexa

when I was on zyprexa if I didn’t have food in my mouth I was ready to kill myself. Maybe it doesn’t make other people so hungry but I couldn’t do it.

I’m on a fairly low dose of zyprexa (7.5mgs) possibly going to 10 mgs in a few weeks. And I’ve had very little weight gain. But I also have a crazy fast metabolism. So the fact that it made me gain any weight at all is pretty impressive. I’d say it would be really hard to keep weight off with zyprexa if you already struggle with it. I love zyprexa though, it’s the only thing that works for me

I was actually on geodon before I switched the zyprexa. Geodon did not work for me at all.

I’m also on a 7.5 mg and have little to no weight gain. I think it’s a great drug for some. It really helped me out with my delusions and my sleep quality is great. I do think if I didn’t smoke it would probably be a weight gaining drug for me.

The med’s affect different people differently. When I was on Zyprexa I craved sugar and I slept a lot. I gained weight on it, but I think I would have gained weight even if I wasn’t on that drug.

I find it impossible to have a normal appetite on Zyprexa. On Zyprexa, I was eating at Village Inn three times a day everyday. I was eating Milky Way candy bars every hour, even during the night. It was crazy. I gained a whole lot of weight.

@crsaen, but you will have to restrict Calories and eat less carbs.
Exercise will help also.
I didn’t gain much weight on Zyprexa, we all have different reactions to these meds.
