It’s called CalFresh here in California. And if you get them right now, have they recently cut your benefits? I read that the government was making huge cuts in SNAP benefits in order to lower the deficit. I applied about three weeks ago and haven’t heard back from them.
I hope the government also cuts the food prices.
its easy to get if you are certainly eligible, but the process is tedious even getting them to call and back and forth with all forms etc.
also during covid times there was an additional benefit each month about midway through, but since its been ended now theres just one monthly amount
Here you can only make like $1200 a month to qualify for any amount, including ssdi.
I make $1216 a month with two people and we get it but I’m in Arkansas
2400 / mo for California. Apply on benefitscal.com - submit application and income documents - then one interview with a case worker about 15 minutes reviewing your income and expenses to determine how much you need in SNAP.
No cuts, actually an increase a couple months ago.
It seems slightly lower, or similar. You shouldn’t have a problem, since rent is high there. Probably takes a while to process. Where I used to be from, you are approved from the date of application, whether they take they’re time processing or not.if you qualify.
Thanks everybody.
Yeah, I only get $23 a month from snap. It seems like you have to earn poverty wages to qualify for snap.
