Is it common to wear scents every day?

I had a strong cologne for going out, but today I gifted myself versace pour homme (eau de toilette) for daily use.

From the people I meet on a daily basis, only one uses some sort of scent.

How do you feel about someone wearing (a not too strong) scent on a daily basis?

(Asking because I don’t know the social norms about this. I have only used cologne for going out my whole life)

I use scents even inside when I feel I want to feel happier. They make me feel good. Otherwise it’s just outside, and a lot because I’m a smoker. I currently use a type of cologne and oud.

I spray on some cologne most days, even at home

Scents for everyday use are cool :+1:.

I think the key is to find something that smells really good, but not too potent or strong— something kinda in the middle and good for day and night.

Finding a signature scent can be hard sometimes!

I wanted to add, use mouthwash a lot. Even if you have the days you’re struggling, mouthwash is easy to use and helps a lot for anyone who smokes - most scent turns out useless if your face has a strong odour!

I try to mouthwash everyday - it gives a nice refreshing feel and makes you feel even better

Nah, I only joined when I was vaping. I got thrashed by everyone there but I enjoyed it. But then a month later, I started smoking again and got worried about being a smoker in a non smoking environment and didn’t go anymore - I had smell mostly under control but I didn’t want to be judged. I want to go back at some point but studies are precedent atm.

I don’t know much about chess rankings, but it sounds like you were really good at it!!!

Kind of, it’s like top 15%-20% of all people that play competitions between chess clubs. But I always felt like complete trash…

It’s one of my post sz achievements, but I spent a lot of time, sweat and blood to be decent at it. Every morning was 1 hour of straight ahead tactic problems, which can drain you mentally for the rest of the day. Also basic repertoire (openings) check, reviewing my games, analyzing master’s games and endgame technique had to be adressed. I ended up doing 3-4 hours daily minimum.

As you see, this is not sustainable unless you’re a professional.

Yeah, I felt like chess was a lot of work too. I didn’t even start properly because I knew it was a lot of analysis and forward planning - things I wouldn’t have time for because of my studies.

I’m impressed though; you really gave it your all and produced an impressive ranking. Very well done you sir

Scents is a personal thing ~ how much, how little, how often you wear should be what makes you feel good.

I wear a light spritz of Sauvage by Dior and enjoy the aroma. People are attracted to it and give compliments too.

If you go to a department store, the cologne/ perfume counter will help you find and sample some. You can even go and buy it somewhere else at a lesser cost.

If it’s a pleasant, mild scent then I think it’s great

I don’t wear cologne anymore – just don’t have a reason to. But I still have two bottles from my college days, just in case lol

I do use aromatherapy in the form of oil diffusers and candles. I can see cologne also working similarly
