Is a mobile/cell phone an essential?

Particularly an iPhone or is it a luxury?

My iPhone 15 comes tomorrow and I think it’s an essential for me. It will last me over 4 years hopefully and be reliable like my old iPhone 11 Pro. I don’t think I treated myself to it, it’s essential for me.

What do you think?

My phone is essential for me.

It’s kinda been made into an essential, especially since there’s no longer payphone’s or paper maps. It’s essential in order to keep up with todays society. I can check my checking account balance anywhere or instantly look at a calendar. It replaces certain things like those. It can replace certain functions of libraries.

I just got the iPhone 15 Pro
It’s blue and yes it’s a necessity for me.

I don’t own a computer and I rely on my phone for everything!

Banking, reminders, notes, GPS (directions), Medication reminders, Social Media outlets including this forum!

I paid under 200 bucks for my android phone…costs me 57 dollars a month to use it unlimited text or call…I have no use for an iphone.

I think having a phone is essential, even just for emergency. But needing to have the newest phone is not. :t_rex::t_rex::t_rex:

A phone is essential nowadays but you have the choice between Android or iPhone. So an iPhone itself isn’t essential!

I use my phone mostly as a camera and then for music. I also use it to control functions on my scooter and occasionally in my car for navigation. Once in a blue moon, someone uncouth uses it to phone me. I don’t answer.

Phone has become very integral part of life. Most things we relied on using different tools and resources are available in one small gadget. It’s convient. But very addictive as well. iPhone is something that happens for some people and for some it’s not so needed.

My phone is essential. I wanted to go up a few steps in the model from my previous phone and went with one that has 5g. I use it for so much but I generally get by without taking it anywhere.

Essential for my healthcare and all kinds services. Plus crisis. I don’t really need a computer.

All matters of life are on my phone. All my important docs on my phone.

All my photos on my phone. Memories.

I shop for food too. If I had someone taking care of these things my phone would be less essential. But probably still a necessity

In this day and age its a good idea to atleast have a cheap smartphone. A lot of doctors/therapists use virtual appointments now and most people have turned to texting.

I think everyone should have a phone. If you’re paying for a landline, you can have a cell phone instead. There are varying costs of cell phones. You can buy even buy one refurbished.

My phone reminds me to take m meds. Plus it has my calendar. Plus there are no longer pay phones. So yes, a cellphone is necessary, but not specifically an iPhone.

I also connect with my family and doctors through my phone.
It’s good for emergencies and I can take different photos of people and my cat

I agree with this statement except substitute “people” with “my dog”.
