Anyone here suffers from severe boredom and anhedonia,
I am still not able to go to work, and do near nothing each day,
I don’t know if it comes from the abilify,
or from the disease…
My last crisis was very difficult and I don’t know if I can quit the abilify…
Also I am on injection…which doesn’t help the eventual process of getting rid of it…
Anyway, it causes me a lot of suffering. and wanted to hear from others who might have the same symptoms…

Some people think its from the meds some people think its the illness but yeah most of us struggle with this.
I was the same with abilify, complete boredom, it’s not good.
What I did is switch to a different med and only take micro doses of abilify every 2-3 months, I take 0.3 mg, a tiny amount and I cope very well.
No boredom now.
Like I’ve done well for years on antipsychotics and antidepressants and just tread water.
Big thing for me was adding diet and exercise and it didn’t really happen till I did 6 months on keto/lo carb. Like I don’t think it’s for everyone but I’ve always been aggressive with med changes in my life. It works well sometimes. Works horrible others. It’s hit or miss with the meds for sure so you’ve two options in my opinion…
Try something else…it can work really well or it can fail too or the other is diet and exercise. Research both but honestly the big problem with pharma is that you just don’t know from the off the shelf medications…but yes they will work but not for everyone nor for you…and then there’s diet and exercise.
It will help too but I’ve found it’s all about finding your thing…that thing can be problematic to find in modern pharma…but…never believe a diet will stop your symptoms. As a adjunct treatment it can do amazing things…and that is someone working from the other end…never bored but blah…till bored and having motivation to move forward with things.
Oh and to which med you switch ? If I may ask…
I switched to risperidone injection.
I take Trintellex and clozapine
The Trintellex I take 20mg for anxiety
