So, this psychopath, Cosmo Dinardo, is in the news for killing four young men in Pennsylvania after selling them drugs…
The prosecutors have made it a point to say to the press that Dinardo was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
I’m so offended and frustrated by the news. I don’t believe this guy killed those four young men because he (allegedly) has sz. But it’s out there now. Plus, selfies that this moron took, pointing a gun at the lens, that he posted on social media. Here’s the terrifying face of sz! Those scary, violent, lethal schizophrenics…

Exactly. All they need to do is say the word “schizophrenia” in connection with a violent crime and everyone thinks , “oh, that’s why…” But that simply isn’t the case.

You’d think people who went to law school and became lawyers would know better. How does it help their case to feed the irrational fears of people outside the courtroom? At any rate it’s pretty despicable of them to do that. I already knew the media is unscrupulous, but I expected just a tiny bit more from lawyers.

It’s generally disheartening, but specifically I think of my son who is a young man just starting out. He has to keep his sz a secret, even though he’s done nothing wrong, because this kind of news story is all most people ever see or hear about in relation to sz.

If he does have sz, should they keep it a secret instead?
It’s my opinion that once they say “diagnosed with schizophrenia” that’s all people hear. Not knowing anything about sz except these violent crime news stories, people’s perception of individuals with sz as violent, murderous monsters is reinforced.
It’s not about keeping it a secret. It’s about not using what is unfortunately an inflammatory term to, what? to help explain this horrible thing that this person has done?
It explains nothing.
