Improving English skills

I am kinda thinking there’s a lot of place for me to improve. As I graduated from English language programme in college, but my English is really too low to work as a translator.

Mostly… my spoken language. Gosh I feel so anxious when I need to speak in English. Even though for free years once a week I was presenting a presentation in English language, but hell most of the time i was reading it from my paper, because of fear of speaking nonsenses.

What’s the best way to improve my English?

As there are most native speakers here, this forum is also helpful for improving my skills.

I studied Spanish for a few years. I quit when I picked guitar back up. English is a hard lesson, a lot to memorize. I understand everything you were saying.

Keep practicing through the forum is my best suggestion. Nothing beats speaking to others in dialogue

They say my English is quite easy to understand. I bet it’s because I spent some time learning the structure and I fear using difficult words.
And indeed… English has like… millions of words. And even has some similar words with quite different meanings and etc. it’s not the easiest language, but some thinks that’s an easy one. It’s a lie.

I actually learnt some new phrases here.
Because I simply HAD to translate certain sentences here, for the sake of understanding the context

This site has to be good for practice. I have Duolingo and have been working on Spanish. I’m not far but it’s fun. My dream goal is to be able to read something and maybe watch some Spanish tv shows.

I think there are pen pal sites for all kinds of languages. Like for instance, someone will learn Lithuanian in exchange for speaking English with you

I don’t know if you want to divulge this information, but what languages do you speak. If it’s to personal you don’t have to say anything. Just curious.
