I'm guilty of not working!

All the jobs I had those ten years I worked were hard jobs, the lowest level jobs. I never do anything hard but suffer and overcome suicide. I have felt guilty a long time, there are people who work really hard all the time! I’m not saying I need any suggestions for hard things, lol. I wonder how it comes out evensteven? I’m not working hard lately but getting to age 51 was a chore. I guess I’m just not fortunate enough to have to work a hard job. I’m not able either. But that hasn’t lessoned my guilt the past 25 years. And I have to do something each day, I found a way.

Lots of people don’t work: students, the unemployed, the ill, the disabled, the retired, housemen/wifes, those who don’t have to work, early retired people and so on.

I wouldn’t worry about it.

I don’t work either and also feel bad about it so I understand. But we do have an illness so it can be understandably difficult to maintain a full time job. I never had one. The only job I ever had was a weekend casual one for a few months before I got married. I want to work from home but looking after my husband takes up most of my time and my avolition is terrible.

Dont worry about it mate. I aint worked in 28 years. I consider that for most of us that have sz, is a full time job anyway - managing our symptoms.

Christ - if im having a meltdown about going outside to the shops for a pint of milk - theres no bloody way i could hold down a job.

Maybe it’s just my paranoia, but it seems like people are very judgemental about employment in general, and unemployment specifically. “Hey, what do you do for a living?” “OH, you DON’T WORK??!?” I don’t think I’m being overly sensitive, but with the normals it seems like a big ego game: who has the coolest, most lucrative job. Gets on my nerves coz it’s like “oh yeah, I CHOSE to not be able to do anything productive.” I’m living on General Assistance, $79/mo., and if you think that’s easy try it.

Me too. But they still give me a paycheck every two weeks.
