Im getting better at playing with little kids. mom says so too

well it’s not something i really like to do but on our latest trip, i played with my little niece and nephew a lot. mom said i did a wonderful job being the bad guy the whole time haha. i never really played with my older niece’s and nephews when they were younger, i was still young and akward. plus i’ve always been the youngest in the family and my brother and sister had kids before i was even out of high school. back then i would rather hang out with my friends.

once i started playing with my niece and nephew they just wanted to play for hours, kind of wearing me out. but i stuck with it, trying to bond with them, because i only see them once a year or so.

for my nephews bday he had his best friend over, giving me a break for a few hours as he played with his friend. it was a relief. most of the time, i just want to be an adult and forget i was ever a kid myself. i’ve still never changed a diaper in my life though.

o and im kind of a pushover so i always let them win when were playing games. but their parents don’t always do that, and sometimes they get upset when they lose.

another thing is my sister doesnt let them play video games. and they are only allowed about an hour of cartoons a day. she didnt turn on the tv once while we were there. they do also sometimes have movie night but not while we there.

my niece and nephew are very imaginative and i struggled to match their childhood creativity. for example, my nephew wanted me to be all these different power ranger monsters, so he could vanquish me, and i ran out of ideas haha.

if i ever had kids of my own, i would allow cartoons, and video games, and movies, just to give myself a break.
