If I go to get stitches for a self inflicted wound will they section me and send me on a psych hold? That’s what happened to me last time. But last time I had Medicaid and it covered everything. I now have commercial insurance and a hospital stay will be extremely expensive plus lost income.
I’ve self harmed before and went in for stitches and told them i didn’t need hospitalization and they just stitched me up and released me. That’s my hospital, tho, and they know me there. I can’t say what your hospital will do. Once i went to urgent care for insomnia and hearing voices (I hadn’t slept in 2 days) and they called an ambulance to take me to the hospital…so i can’t say for sure whether they’d lock you up or not for self harm sutures.

Last time I needed stitches it was on my wrist and it was really severe. I told them it wasn’t a suicide attempt but they still sent me off to the psych unit for 7 days
I got 8 stitches in my eyebrow when i was 8. I was so scared when i seen that needle going in. I said mom hold my hand im scared. man that was scary. I know i been reminising alot.. isent a photographic memory a form of intelligence tho?
If you need stitches, you need stitches. Nothing to be done about it at that point.
I don’t know what they will do as far as hospitalization. I do know what a staph infection will do, and I know what blood loss will do.
