Clinical depression over here [waves]. I’ve been depressed and loved others, but have not felt worthy of any returned affection.

When you think someone would have to be crazy to love you you’re not going to do that well romantically.

It’s possible. Some are super altruistic, think little of themselves but have much love for others.
I don’t actually agree with this sentiment.
Sometimes being with a partner can help you love yourself more. The right partner can be with you through your low times, and support you through your depression.
And you can do the same for them.
That’s, IMO, so much of what being in a relationship is about. If you have to wait until you’re over your ■■■■ or you love yourself, you may be alone for the rest of your life, and you will miss out on all of the good that comes from connection with another.
Think about it – your platonic friends don’t expect you to love yourself in order to be friends with you, so why should your lover/partner?

No, I didn’t see any show with Matt Damon hosting this summer but Kimmel constantly makes remarks about Matt Damon at the end of the show, I’m aware of the joke between them, lol
