If Abilify leaves your system in 16 days, does that mean that your sexual functioning will soon return to its normal state?

Or have I been rendered permanently asexual by these draconian psych drugs?

Abilify is supposed to increase libido, but some folks just drew the short stick and are experiencing the opposite.
In my case, abilify is neutral as regards sexual desires.
But to answer your question: IF abilify is responsible for lower sex drive, then yes, roughly 2-3 weeks after going off this drug you should notice an improvement.

Possibly…this doesn’t directky answer your question, but may provide information as to what is occurring physiologically. From Wikipedia:

Psychiatric medicine is known to cause the brain to form more dopamine receptors for the dopamine blocking effect. The normal amount of dopamine released during sex is insufficient to stimulate the larger number of dopamine receptors.[7] [8][9][10].

Unfortunately I have no taken Abilify for over 2 years and I still have no sex drive. It can take years for abilify effects to leave the body and I’m proof of it.

My sexual functioning returned pretty quickly after dropping APs. Several days, not even a week.

Nothing is stronger motivation to stop than being a very sexually frustrated, angry and unable to orgasm individual :disappointed::disappointed: Reason was not being employed there.

Do not quit medication to improve sex drive.i had problem during initial 2 years but after that things became completely normal.if you encounter relapse it will cause much more severe problems . Schizophrenia’s medication if lifelong but your brain will adapt it sex drive will come again
