So remember how I was working on a book about medieval clothing? Well, it’s done and published! Right now it’s only available on lulu.com, click here to see it, but eventually it’ll be in local bookstores! I wrote it with a sense of humor, so it’s a little silly, but still very informative. It describes the garments, along with a brief history of them, then gives step by step instructions on how to make them, along with diagrams showing how to lay out the patterns on the fabric. It’s coil-bound, so it’ll lie flat on a table and not flip closed, and the diagrams are marked with the dimensions of each piece. It’s a very useful tool for anyone who wants to make their own garb.
Thank you! I’m slowly working on a third, this one historical fantasy, that I originally did for NaNoWriMo but never finished. I’m about halfway done with it, but I’m not sure where I want to take it for the second half.
I wrote books for nearly forty years. Sent to a lot of publishers, but couldn’t get anywhere. Now I’ve stopped writing, and I’m trying to come to terms with all of these manuscripts sitting on my shelf. I enjoyed writing - it gave me a dopamine high that made my day happy - but now I think it was all delusions of grandeur. But maybe that’s not what the writing was. Why? Was it just therapy. Or maybe God was making me evolve by experiencing all those emotions of fantasizing about success.
So cool…awesome you’re getting books published!! That’s always been a dream of mine…
How do you stick with what you’re writing about? As a writer I often come up with new and interesting ideas but often lose motivation to follow through with them. I want to do nanowrimo some day but the motivation thing just kills me.
