I want to be a professor of mathmatics at Harvard University
You’re only 24. Professors are usually in their 40s-50s.
U should take ur medicine cuz u are day dreaming…!!! Sorry man…!!!
Have you made A’s and B’s in Math? If so have you reached a high level of mathematical achievement in college to at least the calculus or differential equation level? If you have not you are dreaming indeed. If so keep trying.
That’s a lofty ambition. Maybe try aiming for something smaller first, like a lecturer at a local college.
I think you can do it Chess. Anything is possible.
Does it need to be so specific? Could it not just be a mathematical lecturer at a University?
I would set more realistic goals that you actually have a chance at succeeding at. It’s nice to aim high but I think it would be a struggle to just teach at a local community college. The paradox is that if you don’t realize what it takes to teach at Harvard then you don’t belong there teaching. You may succeed at teaching somewhere if you lower your expectations but don’t set yourself up for failure.
Some time ago you wrote that you invited people to complete Ph.D studies in mathematics at one university in Israel, because you could not. Now this posting. It is good to have dreams but I think that teaching can be very stressful, especially at one of the top universities. When I was at the university I liked mathematics too, but I think that you need to be quite accomplished to teach at Harvard. I think that @77nick77 is right when he wrote about lowering your expectations.
I wanted to be an Asthanga yoga teacher
Have you ever considered making more realistic goals for yourself?
Harvard is so unbelievably competitive it is remarkable. You need to be a phd and at the top of your field. It would be more likely to try teaching at a community college, you can probably do that with just a masters if you are lucky
